Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of conditions do you treat?

I work with patients who are dealing with conditions that are associated with stress, anxiety, or depression. These include anxiety, depression, eating disorders, pain, obesity, headaches, insomnia, and many other medical conditions. For a full list please see the conditions treated page.

What if I can't or don't want to become a patient, but still want information on self-healing?

If you are interested in general information for improving health, performance, relationships and spirituality please check out my general web site at www.fullcapacityliving.com. (This site is still under construction)

Do you take insurance?

I am a provider for most insurance panels. Please check with your insurance company to see if I am on their current list.

Do you require patients to take medications?

While I often advise medications, I don't push them. If someone doesn't want to take my advice on a medication, I don't take it personally. I can handle working with patients who disagree with me as long as we continue to listen to each other.

Is the patient information on this site safe?

The company, Ibernetics, L.L.C., which maintains this site implements security measures and contracts with other companies to keep out unauthorized users. At this time we are not putting any personally indentifiable information on the site.

What if I can't pay my co-pay immediately?

I ask patients to bring their co-pay to their appointment since that makes our accounting task much easier. I realize people go through hard times and will make exceptions in those cases. Simply let us know if you need that consideration and Leslie and I will work something out with you. I would rather have you delay your co-payment than delay your treatment. For more information see our office policies which is part of our intake packet.

Since you emphasize self-healing, what if I want to take medication?

That depends on what medication you are requesting. I am comfortable prescribing medications as long as they are likely to be beneficial. I will not prescribe a medication if I think that its risks outweigh its benefits.

How long are appointments?

Your first appointment is an hour. Subsequent appointments are either 25 or 45 minutes long.

Can I bring someone to my appontment?

Since your appointment is for you, you can bring someone if you wish. If I observe that the other person's presence is causing difficulties then I will bring that up as something to address.

Do you see children?

I am not certified as a child psychiatrist. I have experience with people age 14 and up.
